10 Simple Effective Habits to Kickstart Your Month

Welcome to the beginning of a new month. It's a fresh start, a blank slate filled with endless possibilities. Instead of diving into the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life and not even thinking about it, let's take some time to set the tone for the weeks ahead. So, grab your calendar and let's set you up for success.


1.Set Clear Intentions: Before diving into the month, take a moment to set clear intentions for what you hope to accomplish. Whether it's personal growth, professional success, or simply finding more joy in the everyday, having a clear vision will help guide your actions and decisions throughout the month. Think about your previous month and what you’d like to improve on. And above all else, gratitude is key.


2.Write a To-Do List: It's easy to feel overwhelmed when you're faced with a mountain of tasks. Take some time to scribble down everything you need to accomplish in the coming weeks. Breaking things down into smaller, manageable tasks can help you stay organized and focused. Keep the most important tasks at the top.

3.Clean Your Home: There's something therapeutic about starting a new month with a clean and organized living space. Take some time to declutter, dust, and vacuum your home. Not only will it create a more pleasant environment to live in, but it'll also help you feel more focused and productive.


4.Clean Your Car: Your car is an extension of your home, so why not give it some TLC as well? Throw out the crumbled-up trash the laying on the passenger side floor and give your baby a nice wash. You'll feel a sense of pride every time you get in the car.

5.Restock Home Essentials: Because nothing is worse than realizing you’re out of toilet paper and scavenging for napkins. 

 

6.Make Plans with Friends and Family: Life can get busy, and it's all too easy to let time go by without seeing the people who matter most to you. Take the initiative to reach out and make plans with friends and family for the month ahead. Whether it's a dinner date, a movie night, or just a quick catch-up over coffee, spending time with people you love is essential for your well-being.


7.Schedule Appointments: From doctor's appointments to haircuts to oil changes, there always seems to be a never-ending list of appointments to schedule. Take some time at the beginning of the month to review your calendar and book any necessary appointments. Proactive scheduling will help you stay on top of your health and other important commitments.

 

8.Make or Go Over Budget: Let’s talk dough. Take some time at the beginning of each month to review your budget, track your expenses, and make any necessary adjustments. Setting financial goals and sticking to a budget as much as you can, will help you achieve greater financial freedom and peace of mind. And don’t forget to treat yourself!


9.Buy Birthday Cards for the Month Ahead: There's nothing as special as receiving a handwritten birthday card that someone picked just for you, no matter how much technology has taken over. Take some time at the beginning of the month to buy birthday cards for any friends or family celebrating birthdays in the coming weeks. It's a simple gesture that shows you care and goes a long way in strengthening your relationships.

 

10.Meal Planning
Some people like to do this monthly, some weekly and some take it day by day. The best thing I've noticed that works for me, is to make a long list of meals every month to choose from. So even if you do your shopping weekly or even every few days, you'll have a whole menu to choose from for whatever you're in the mood for.

By making the time for these essential tasks at the beginning of each month, you'll set yourself up for success in the weeks ahead. Be sure to stay flexible, adapt and give yourself some grace if anything comes your way and pushes you off course because, LIFE!  And don’t forget to acknowledge and reward your accomplishments, because you deserve it.
