5 Things to Get Rid of Right Now
Share
Clutter is stressful. A clean, organized space really makes a major positive impact on your mental clarity and peace. As a busy working mom, I get that it's not always that simple. Sometimes I feel like I'm on a never-ending carousel of mess, especially since moving into a tiny house, if anything is out of place it just automatically looks messy. So, do you want to know my main rules I go by in my home now? If you have no place or use for it DO NOT BUY IT. If you haven't used it in x amount of time (6 months to a year is usually the sweet spot depending on what it is), donate or throw it out. Now, here are a few things you can do to declutter your space in under an hour.
1. Duplicate Kitchen Tools
How many spatulas, ladles, or bottle openers do you really need? Keep the ones you reach for daily and donate the extras — your drawers will instantly feel bigger and easier to use.
2. Expired Pantry Items & Spices
Need I say more?
3. Old Mail & Paper Piles
You don't need that oil change receipt from 2017, into the bin it goes!
4. Unused Bathroom Products
All those half-used lotions and backup conditioners that don't make your hair feel nice but can't throw out because you spend 30 bucks on it, away they go!
5. Clothes You Haven’t Worn in a Year
If it hasn’t seen daylight in a year, it’s probably safe to let it go. Stop saving things just in case. Pack up a donation bag and give your closet some breathing room — getting dressed will feel so much easier.
Decluttering doesn’t have to mean a giant overhaul — sometimes five quick wins are all you need to feel lighter and more at peace in your space. Here are some organizing items that you might like.
